assignment for spring break:

finish reading the nisenson biography of coltrane.

for your first paper of the 4th quarter, listen to and analyze the "Olatunji Concert." Nisenson didn't know it existed and it is coltrane's last recorded performance, one month before he died from liver cancer. how does this recording contradict nisenson's speculation about where coltrane's music was headed?

we will then begin reading: "One Nation Under a Groove: Motown and American Culture" by Gerald Early.
